Root ACER S120 Liquid Metal

Acer Liquid Metal S120

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before you buy a new cell phone or new tablet, please try the following procedure to repair your device. First charge your battery, backup your important data if possible and in most cases take out SIM and SD card. It is impossible to recover your data after doing a hard reset, so online backup is always important. For all of your data, a backup should be done on an external device, hard drive, raid system or media. With or without insurance, if your cell phone lost, damaged or stolen at least your invaluable data is backed up in a safe place.

Root the Acer Liquid Metal
After some rumors about the specifications of the device, the Acer Liquid Metal finally debuted in October 2010. The device features a 800MHz processor and is backed by 512 MB of RAM, has a 5MP shooter on the back and is a budget-friendly device. If you’ve purchased this device and want to root it, obviously to install root-only apps, then you’re at the right place. We’re gonna show you how you can root your Acer Liquid Metal smartphone and let its full potential come-out, here you go:

I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. This works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Custom Recovery (Download link’s given in the first post, in step-8)

2. Superuser (Download link’s given in the first post, in last section)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Acer Liquid Metal:
1. Download and place both the files to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Custom Recovery archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn ON the USB debugging function on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.

4. Once enabled, connect your device to your PC via USB cable.

5. Double-click on the file named install_recovery.cmd available on your Desktop.

6. It should flash the recovery on your device.

7. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.

Great! The custom recovery’s been successfully flashed on your device, now see how you can root your device:

IV. Rooting the Acer Liquid Metal:
1. Ensure your device’s connected to your PC.

2. Copy the Superuser file over to the root of your SD card.

3. Once the file has been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

4. Turn OFF your device.

5. Now hold down the Volume UP+Focus+Power buttons together and your device should reboot into Recovery mode.

6. Select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.

7. Choose the Superuser file you copied earlier to your device for flashing.

8. It should flash the file on your device.

9. Once the file has been flashed, reboot your device.
